Handmade Fall Card Ideas - Day 5 of 5!

Sadly, we're on the last day of Handmade Fall Card Ideas series.  On a high note though, I have 3 lovely cards for you today using fall leaves.  I really love the Leaflets Framelits Dies and coordinating Vintage Leaves stamp set.  I'm using these in my classes this month, so I'll show that when we've had our final class with it.

This first card is from Crew Stamper Vicky Collins.  Vicky used lots of sponging to great effect with this wonderful fall card.  I love how she stamped the card front with the Hardwood background stamp, die cut the leaf and used the negative of the die to showcase her focal point.  The scene was stamped on another layer, then mounted on the card.  All the dark sponging makes it pop.  Love it!

 Our next card is from Crew Stamper Cathy Holman.  I can always tell it's Cathy's card because she's diligent about stamping not only the front, but the inside and back of the card.  She goes all out to make sure getting a card from her is a full experience.  Cathy used great fall colors in her card.  She stamped and heat embossed all the leaves before die cutting, then also used some Gorgeous Grunge images for texture.  This is her card front.

The inside is a fun pop up card with lots of great words and elements.  Still sticking with the fall color scheme established on the front of the card.  

Here's the back of the card with the always beautiful Sheltering Tree stamp set.  Great job Cathy!

Our last card today is from Crew Stamper Janet Hathcoat.  Janet stamped and die cut her fall leaves for this card and also used the Hardwood background stamp.  Isn't it amazing how three people can use the same supplies but get completely different looks?  Love it!  I also love the bit of Burlap Ribbon and Linen Thread added with some Gold Glimmer paper for a little more texture.

We had a busy weekend - the girls were all home and John had friends over to watch football on Saturday.  I managed to get a few things done, but am once again playing catch up today.  

I thought I would share a few cards (and a gift) from friends today:

Look at this gorgeous framed art piece from Laura Diamond.  This was my birthday gift - woohoo!!!  

Laura used the Perfect Peacock stamp set with a retired feather set - don't they match perfectly?  The words are from Work of Art (both sets are on sale this week).  I love the colors!!!!  Thanks Laura!

This is the card Laura made to go with the gift.  She used a Neutrals Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stack piece for the background, retired Glimmer Paper for the bottom layer and a fun retired stamp for the main image.  A few added Rhinestones add extra sparkle.  Love it!

This hilarious card is from Mary Harvey.  She used the retired Party Animal stamp set - lots of great coloring and cutting.  Love it!!!  She used the Hardwood background (on sale this week).  Thanks Mary!  So cute!!!

This adorable card is from Janet Hathcoat. She used one of her Paper Pumpkin kits and changed up the design.  There are soooo many things you can do with those kits.  October's kit should be here any day and I can't wait.  Thanks Janet - so adorable!

This fun card is from Reta Daugherty.  I love the retired Designer Series Paper (sometimes I measure things in my sleep).  The words are from the Watercolor Words stamp set (on sale this week).  I also love the added flower detail - so cute!   Thank you Reta!

This card is also from Reta and was my birthday card.  I love the monochromatic use of color and the great use of her retired products - use those up girls!!!  The retired border punch and ribbon add a great detail.  The words are from the Trust God stamp set (yes, it's on sale this week).  Thank you Reta - lovely!!

This wonderful card is another one from Janet Hathcoat.  I love this stamp set, Summer Silhouettes, but I hardly ever use it.  I'm going to start soon though.  Hey, did you know that this stamp set is on sale this week?  That's right, it is!!  I also love the gorgeous color combination.  Thanks Janet!!

Guy Greetings Day 2!

I have a card and a tag today, also using the vintage car image from the Guy Greetings stamp set. This is the favorite image with my customers as well.  We made this card in workshops in May.

I used Very Vanilla and Early Espresso for my colors, along with a little of the Adventure Bound DSP for an accent.  I used a thread from the Burlap Ribbon to add a little more texture.  The Hardwood Background goes perfectly with this vintage set.  

I have a basket that I put all my scraps from workshops with bits of DSP, ribbons, die-cut and punched pieces that weren't used.  Everyone once in a while, I'll take that basket and make up a bunch of tags with my left over bits and pieces.  I had one car stamped on an oval with some oft he DSP left over.

I put it all on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and added a little "hello" and voila!  

Most of these items were the same ones I used yesterday, but I added the Hardwood stamp set and the "Hello" is from our new Rewards set, Silhouettes & Script (I love this set!!!)

Now for the sad news.  

BLENDABILITIES UPDATE:  There have been continued quality issues with the Blendabilities Markers product line.  Due to the nature of the defect (see below), Stampin' Up! has concluded that difficulties, dissatisfaction, and product returns will only become more widespread. The manufacturer is unable to correct the problem in a manner that Stampin' Up! is certain would meet their high quality standards and provide them with a stable, long-term solution. Therefore, after a great deal of deliberation and in order to prevent further disappointment, the Blendabilities product line has been discontinued.

BLENDABILITIES Q & A

Q: Will the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad (item #132708) and the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad Refill (item #133456) still be available for purchase?
A: Yes. These items will continue to be available for purchase.  

Q: What are the quality problems with this product?
A: When the tip is welded to the barrel, the welding process can leave microscopic (invisible) holes in the marker tip. This leads to accelerated evaporation of the alcohol in the ink.

Q: Are all Blendabilities markers defective?
A: No. Most Blendabilities markers work as intended and I haven't personally encountered this problem.   

Q:  What if I have Blendabilities markers that are defective?  If you ordered them through me, please email me for assistance.  

Today's project is a fun card we made in our workshops last month and features our new Chalkboard Paper and Chalk inks.

For the card base, I stamped the Hardwood background stamp in Smoky Slate ink on the card front and used a square framelit to cut the bottom out to create legs for the chalkboard stand.  

I used the Rose Coral Chalk Ink pad for the words and embellished with a clip, twine and sequins.

Today's projects feature some great fall cards from our Stampin' CrEW Members.  This first card is from JoAnn Graham.  You can check out her blog at Rock Paper Scissors.

For the background, JoAnn used the Hardwood background stamp.

The leaves are cut with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die, then veins were embossed with a stylus and colors were sponged on the leaves.  The speckle pattern came from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.
