Going Global...

Today's wonderfully masculine card uses our Going Places suite of products from the Occasions catalog.  I've used the World Traveler Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, the Going Global stamp set and the Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack.

I used Sahara Sand for the base and front of the card on a mat of Basic Black card stock.  For the embossed front piece, I brayered Sahara Sand ink over the inside cover of the folder, then ran it through the Big Shot.  I adds just enough color to help highlight the great details.  The world was stamped with Lost Lagoon ink on some of the DSP and cut with the 2" Circle Punch.  I added a couple strips of the Going Places DSP, stamped the "Happy Birthday" from Guy Greetings on Vanilla card stock and trimmed with the Washi Label Punch.  A couple sequins from the Metallics Assortment finishes off the card.  Love it!

Single Layer Swaps - Day 2!

I have two more beautiful cards to share with you today.  They both used a collage look, but with different twists on their cards.

The first card is from one of our newest Crew stampers, Vicky Collins!  Vicky used the By the Tide stamp set to make a great background then added her sentiment on top with some of our new Cherry Cobbler Thick Baker's Twine.

This is Vicky's first swap and she did a fantastic job!  Super cute!

Our next card is from Sylvia Meyer.  She used the Flower Patch stamp set to create a colorful background, then used the Ovals Collection Framelits to make a window for her focal point.

I love how she masked off the edges, then used a marker to make the border.  It's a faux layer!  

The inside sentiment is also the outside sentiment.  I love the little flower embellishment.  Adorable!!!

I have just a few more samples to show you today using our Guy Greetings stamp set.  The first card uses a masking technique.  I stamped the man on the Typeset DSP, then masked him with a post it note and sponged around him with Crumb Cake ink.  

Colors used are Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Basic Black.  I used Typeset DSP for the main image and then scored 3 lines with the Scoring Tool for a little added texture.  

I had a couple masks left over after the class that were still in pretty good shape, so I used them to make a couple tags.  

Aren't they funny?  The words came from the new host set, Silhouettes & Script.  

My last project today is a nautical themed card.  

The colors of Island Indigo, Whisper White & Smokey Slate go really we together.  I used my Circle Framelits Dies to make the ring around the anchor.

Guy Greetings Day 4! Ode to green...

The shoes in the Guy Greetings stamp set remind me of golf shoes.  My husband is an avid tool collector as I mentioned yesterday, but he also loves to golf when he gets the chance.  These shoes look like they belong on the golf course, so I made a card using several shades of green.

I used the retired Adventure Bound DSP stack for the flagged pieces (I love the grass image & there are so many masculine patterns in this pack).  The card base is Pear Pizzazz.  The colors of the shoes from left to right are:  Always Artichoke, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi & Mossy Meadow.

Guy Greetings Day 3!

All men love tools, right?  I know my husband loves getting a gift card from Home Depot or Lowes and is an avid tool collector.  This is a perfect gift card for your "tool collector".

I used the tool image from the Guy Greetings stamp set and head embossed it with Early Espresso embossing Powder.  The card stock used is Cherry Cobbler, Brushed Silver, Early Espresso and Whisper White.  I used the Argyle embossing folder (retired).  

The Word Window Punch makes a slot for the gift card and the Hexagon Punch and the 3/4" Circle punch made perfect bolts.

Guy Greetings Day 2!

I have a card and a tag today, also using the vintage car image from the Guy Greetings stamp set. This is the favorite image with my customers as well.  We made this card in workshops in May.

I used Very Vanilla and Early Espresso for my colors, along with a little of the Adventure Bound DSP for an accent.  I used a thread from the Burlap Ribbon to add a little more texture.  The Hardwood Background goes perfectly with this vintage set.  

I have a basket that I put all my scraps from workshops with bits of DSP, ribbons, die-cut and punched pieces that weren't used.  Everyone once in a while, I'll take that basket and make up a bunch of tags with my left over bits and pieces.  I had one car stamped on an oval with some oft he DSP left over.

I put it all on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and added a little "hello" and voila!  

Most of these items were the same ones I used yesterday, but I added the Hardwood stamp set and the "Hello" is from our new Rewards set, Silhouettes & Script (I love this set!!!)

Guy Greetings Day 1!

I thought I would share a few days of Guy Greetings with you.  This is one of my favorite masculine stamp sets and it has so many different images and words that it can work for any occasion.  My card today features the car stamp in the set.

This is a fun slider card we made at one of our classes.  I love making interactive cards and have plans for a Christmas card using a similar technique.  I used some of the retired Adventure Bound DSP from the Occasions mini.  

Here is the tag pulled out.  I used Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip and Naturals Ivory card stock.  The Word Window Punch is a must have for a slider card.    

The inside of the card.  I don't usually like to add the inside verse until I know what I'm going to use it for, so I'll add that later.
