Rock On!

Today's card is perfect for those wanna be rock stars in the family.

This fun guitar shaped card is super fun to make.  I found the template here, but had to reduce in size a bit.

The guitar on this card opens up for you to write inside.  You could also make the guitar flat on the front of the card and the full card opens for more writing space.  

It might be a little hard to see, but the guitar base is Very Vanilla card stock, then sponged with So Saffron, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede ink, then the Woodgrain background is stamped with Crushed Curry ink.  The pieces are cut out with Basic Black card stock and the dots are put on with the White Chalk Marker.

Sale-a-bration sneak peek!

I spent yesterday shredding 20+ years of papers and working on tiles for the LBC craft show next November.  I've set a goal each month and January's projects are hanging tiles and post it note holders.  I'm hoping to get them finished today.

Notice the paper shred on the floor.  You can only shred so much, then the shredder shuts down and needs to cool off.  

Last year I made 17 tiles using 3 designs.  All sold the first day.  This year, I'm making 46 tiles in 9 or 10 designs, so we'll see how they do.

I also made a quick little card using some of our new Sale-a-bration products.  I can't wait until January 28th!  

There's an awesome suite of coordinating products in the Sale-a-bration mini.  This DSP is from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper Pack.  I used Pool Party, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock and the words from from the Occasions Alphabet stamp set. 

The Pool Party Twine, cork flowers and accents are both from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack.  It also includes Crisp Cantelope and Summer Starfruit Twine.  I added a couple rhinestones for a little bling.

Today's first project was created by CrEW Stamper Janet Hathcoat.

Janet used the new Flower Shop Bundle to create with adorable card with fall colors.  

I wanted to show the card open so you could better see the stamped strip of flowers that are trimmed and added to the card front, then she's stamped and punched two more that are popped up for more dimension.

We're almost at the end of our You're Amazing showcase.  Today's card is a "G is for Graduate" card using the You're Amazing stamp set.  The G stamp says "the sky's the limit" so it goes great with these adorable pop-out balloons.

To make the balloon, stamp the balloon top 3 times, then fold each in half, stamped  side to the inside.  Glue unstamped sides together, then glue the flat side to the card.  The clouds were made with the Cupcake Builder Punch, then glued to the Pool Party card stock and run through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

The Occasions Alphabet is one of my favorite greetings sets.  They fit perfectly in the Large Oval punch which of course, layers perfectly on the Scallop Oval punch.  You can use any of the complete 26 stamped images, or just use the letter part of the stamp, or just the bottom verse.  It's easy to just ink the part you want with our Stampin' Write Markers.  At an average of $1.70 per stamp for the wood mounted set, or just $1.23 average for each of the clear mounted stamps, this is a great deal!
