Last day for FREE markers with MyPaperPumpkin & card sets!

Today is the last day to sign up for MyPaperPumpkin and get a FREE set of In Color Markers, so hurry and don't miss out.  These are super fun kits and work great for yourself, gifts and more.

I've been working on items for the FOA Arts & Crafts Festival on April 12th.  I finished up 10 sets of these ASU cards.  There are 4 cards in each set and I'll be selling them for $8 a pack.  How do you like the Red Wolf image?  I carved that with our Undefined Stamp Carving Kit - woohoo!  The letters are from a retired alphabet set.

I carved these words too, not perfect, but they'll do.

Tomorrow, I'll show you my UA Razorback set.

Design and make your own stamp!

When Stampin'Up!'s new Undefined Stamp Carving Kit came out, I was super excited.  Between classes, craft shows, Girl Scouts, the kids in school and band, I'm always looking for a specific stamp that I can never seem to find.  Well, now I can make anything I want!

With the upcoming craft show next month at Arkansas State University, I love to have lots of ASU and even UA Razorback items on my shelves for the booth.  I have an ASU Crafter's License, so I thought I'd try carving some stamps to make note card sets and some other projects.  Here are some photos:

Here's the carving kit.  It comes with some blocks, two carving tools, rubber, mounting adhesive, postcards and a template of basic images.  I carved 2 stamps - Howl (the mascot) and "Howl Yes" which I mounted on an old clear block.

Here's a close up of the Howl Stamp.  This was extremely detailed and very ambitious for my first try at carving.  I would definitely recommend a simpler stamp at first.  They're not pretty to look at but the results are amazing!

I made a set of 4 note cards.  The DSP is not Stampin'Up!, but it's licensed paper for ASU from the local scrapbooking store.  The ASU stamps were from an old alphabet set, but I'm planning on carving another stamp with ASU on it.
The stamp provides a clear image, but also has that homemade feel to it.  I colored the red in and have to do a little adjustment with a black marker on one of his eyebrows (don't tell anyone).
These cards are very basic, but I wanted to keep the set simple.  I'll design more with some bling and a little more "feminine" flair.
How long did it take to carve that stamp, you ask?  Well, I probably spent about 3-4 hours on the two of them.  There was a lot of detail and I took my time.  With a simpler design, you could make your own custom stamp in 30-45 minutes or less.  Of course, the more detailed, the longer it will take, but the results are well worth it.

Here's a quick video to show you how it's done:

Here are a couple more projects from Christmas in July:
This is one of our new Tag a Bag Gift Boxes from the big Catalog with a belly band, a bow from the Gift Bows Bigz L Die in the Holiday mini and a tag using the new Very Merry Tags stamp set.

This project used the new Mini Muslin Bags in the Holiday Mini, the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit (chevron stencil) and the new Christmas Collectibles ornament set.  The bag is filled with a peppermints.

This project was actually a case from a swap I received at convention.  I altered it a bit, but the center is a tube of Rolo's.  The hat is a finger cut from a knit mitten.  Too cute!
Today on our GS trip, we went to the Aquarium in Gatlinburg, had lunch at the Old Mill in Pigeon Forge, then shopped at the Tanger Outlet Mall for tax free day.  Shopping is definitely my least favorite thing to do ever, but the girls had fun.  Tonight they went in the hot tub and then we're working on our scrapbooks.  Our last day is tomorrow and we're planning on tubing - can't wait!
