Can you guess the theme of today's samples? Mmmmm..... that's right! STARS!!! I've got 2 projects and then a video for you. The first project is a set of 3 3D star ornaments:
The stars are stamped on Whisper White card stock with Lost Lagoon ink. I've used the new Bright & Beautiful stamp set. You need 5 stars for each ornament. They were all cut with the Stars Framelits Dies.
Here's a close up of the medium ornament. A little White Baker's Twine is used for the hanger and a Vintage Faceted Button is on top. You can't see it here, but all the edges have 2-Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on them. Very sparkly in person.
Supplies used:
Stars Framelits Dies and Bright & Beautiful stamp set
Lost Lagoon ink, Whisper White card stock, White Baker's Twine, Vintage Faceted Buttons
2-Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
The second project today is a gorgeous vintage looking card using the Bright & Beautiful stamp set.
The star and words were stamped in VersaMark ink, then heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.
Supplies used:

Very Vanilla and Basic Black card stock, Typeset DSP
Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon, Silver Embossing Powder, VersaMark ink, heat tool
Here's a video from Stampin'Up! on how to use these awesome Star Framelit Dies to make some adorable star shaped boxes. Wouldn't these make adorable Christmas Ornaments or stocking stuffers?

At our Demonstrator meeting the other day, we made this cute angel ornament using the new Gift Bow Bigz Die in the holiday mini catalog. This project was inspired by Cindee Wilkinson at Just Sponge It, but with a few changes. I would recommend using the 1-1/4" Circle punch for the head and the small rectangle piece on the die for a neck so the head doesn't sit so low on the angel.
These were super fun and quick to make. They would make lovely gift tags as well.
I used our Vellum card stock and Gold Embossing Powder for the banner.

Since I had such a hard time posting in June and July, I need to share the Best of stamp sets for those two months. The June set was Best of Greetings and the July set was Best of Shelli. These sets are available until March 31st, 2013.
You never have to be at a loss for the right words with the Best of Greetings Stamp Set. With this set, you have the perfect saying for almost any occasion!
Every month during 2013, we’re combining some of our all-time-favorite stamps with a new, never-before-seen stamp to create a monthly “Best of” stamp set. Best of Greetings is our June offering, but don’t forget to check out the sets from previous months as well. They’re available all year! Note: Clear-Mount Blocks B, C, and G needed for this set.
Who better to pick a “Best of” stamp set than the person who helped start Stampin’ Up! out of her garage 25 years ago? Shelli Gardner, our CEO and Cofounder picked her favorite stamp images from the past 25 years and helped combine them into a single set just for you! Even better, this set includes a never-before-seen flourish image, and the flower image coordinates perfectly with the 3/4” Circle Punch (item 119873). Set Quantity: 7
Here are a couple more swaps and some projects from Christmas in July.
This swap was made by Pam Crane. Too cute. And Pam even cut all those hexagons - can you believe it?! Proud of you Pam!!!
This little bag uses the new Tag a Bag Gift Bags along with some new Burlap Ribbon, and A Banner Christmas stamp set. It is filled with a double decker Moon Pie.
This adorable ornament is made with the new Festive Flurry stamp set and dies. Some Silver Stampin' Glitter and new Silver Ribbon add a little bling.
For a little trip update, today we went horseback riding (best mountain trail ride ever), then white river rafting. We finished up the evening with a movie in the hot tub under the stars. Fireflies all around, then ice cream. Having a blast!!!
Tomorrow we head to the Aquarium and the outlet malls. Ugh, I hate shopping. Wish me luck! I may just find a coffee shop, take a book and hang while the girls do their thing. Sounds like a plan.
