My Girl Scout Troop started sewing on their quilts last week.  My living room has become a staging area for sewing machines, bags of t-shirts, fabric and misc. other supplies.  I have 3 that have started sewing and several who are still working on cutting and ironing on backing.  Here are a couple photos of the girls.

Lillie has missed a bit because of Mock Trial and other school activities, so she's working on cutting her shirts. She's had some emotional trauma cutting her shirts and letting them go - lol! But she'll have them forever anyway, just keeping her warm in a different way.

This masculine birthday card was designed by JoAnn Graham.  It used the Hearts a Flutter Framelit Dies.  She's used a variety of DSP and the Argyle Embossing Folder.  This is a great quick and easy, but elegant card.

We had our GS cookie pick up yesterday.  I was at the ASU Armory from 7:30am to 5:30pm.  Long day, but that's the earliest I've ever gotten home, so woohoo!  Here are a few photos from the day.  Wish I had taken a before picture after unloading pallets before we sorted them into troop orders.   All the workers came in first and picked up their cookies.  It was raining so it was fantastic to be able to drive into the armory to load the cars.  We had donuts, snacks, bottled water, coffee, etc. to tide us over for the day.

We had our Demonstrator meeting tonight and had some excellent swaps.  I'll share some of those with you the rest of this week.  The theme of the swap was to use something from the Spring Mini Catalog.

Rosamond also made each one of us a note book using  DSP, stamps and ribbon from the SAB catalog.

Hearts a Flutter final project - a scrapbook page!

Here's a quick and simple scrapbook layout using the More Amore DSP and the Hearts a Flutter bundle.

The new Tea Lace Paper Doilies add a cute, feminine touch to any project. The come in white, but you can sponge them with any ink to coordinate with your project.  This Doily was inked with Pool Party ink.

My blue Valentine....

Here is our last card this week featuring the Hearts a Flutter stamp set.  I've paired it with the Tiny Tags stamp set which is perfect for adding just a little extra "touch".

The front of the card was embossed with the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder then sanded - see instructions below.  

The new Designer Builder Brads add an elegant touch.  

The front of the card is the new Pool Party Core-dinations Card Stock.  The Core'dinations card stock is an 80lb. sandable card stock.  One side is textured, one is smooth and they have a lighter shade of monochromatic color on the inside.  So, when the card stock is torn, distressed or sanded, that lighter shade comes out.  Here's a quick tutorial on how to make it happen:

Cut the size piece of Core'dinations Card Stock you want.  

Run through your choice of embossing folder.

Sand the raised image lightly with our Sanding Blocks.  

Voila!  There will be a little mess, but a Swiffer cloth cleans that up quickly.
