Delicate Details from Lucy...

Today's project was designed by Crew Stamper Lucy Taylor.  Her card was made with the Delicate Details and Any Occasion Sale-a-bration stamp sets.  Her colors are Very Vanilla, Melon Mambo and Crumb Cake.

Lucy added some texture to the background with the Gorgeous Grunge set (one that works well on any card).  The Sweetheart Punch and some Rhinestone Jewels were also used.  What an adorable wedding card!

Wedding Shower Card for Jackie...

One of my daughters is getting married in May.  Her fiance's grandmother hosted a shower for her last weekend and I decided to give them an "organization package" for a gift.  I gave them a filing cabinet, paper shredder, fire/water proof chest and hanging files/file folders.  I immediately thought the card should reflect the gift, so I made this adorable filing cabinet wedding card.  Never thought I'd use all those words in the same sentence, did you?  LOL!

I used a Whisper White card base and a slightly smaller piece of Whisper White embossed with the Happy Heart Embossing Folder (smooth side up).  I used some retired Brushed Silver card stock for the filing cabinet and a bit of the Silver Foil for the handles, lock and bow (Balloon Pop Up Thinlints Dies).  I popped up the bottom drawer to put in the Wedding Wishes (Rose Wonder stamp set) sentiment.  I also added a personal note using lots of organizational puns to the happy couple.

Sometimes, you can let your gift be the inspiration for your card.  Try it out and see what you come up with!

Swirly Bird...part 2

I have two more cards to share today using the Swirly Bird Bundle.  We made these at a class last month and I'm loving the versatility of this set.  Too many ideas, not enough time!!

This is a cute engagement, wedding or anniversary card.  I used the larger die circle for a wreath, then stamped and cut out the birds and nest.  Some added hearts, bling and a sentiment finish off the card.  The background was stamped with the Hardwood stamp.  Words were heat embossed with White EP mixed with a  little Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  Words are from the B.Y.O.P. stamp set.  

The fun baby card was made with the Swirl Bird set.  I used the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies, some Serene Scenery DSP and a little Island Indigo Baker's Twine.  Words are from the Crazy About You stamp set.  Colors used are Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, Soft Sky and Whisper White.

A Pop Up Wedding Card....

This wedding card is the last of the projects from our Pop Up Class last month.  It uses some retired DSP and retired set, but you could do this with any stamp set or Designer Series Paper.

Front is pretty, but simple...

Mr. and Mrs...

The last card from our Wedding Card Class is this fun matching towel card.   I used a Tea Lace Paper Doily to make two towels.  The Mr. and Mrs. came from the For the New Two stamp set, but were colored with the Chocolate Chip marker before stamping so only those parts showed.  The hearts are from the Heart Border Punch.

Colors used are Whisper White, Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip.

I love the little Silver Foil towel bar with the Silver Mini Brads.

An elegant wedding card....

Today's card is a beautifully elegant card, perfect for any wedding.  I used Shimmery White card stock for the base, mat and words.  The heart is made with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and has a layer of the Silver Foil underneath.  The words are heat embossed with Silver Powder and there are some Rhinestones for just a touch more bling.

The heart was cut first out of the top layer, then another Dazzling Diamonds heart was cut and inserted in the space.  

I seem to be missing one Rhinestone here, but you get the idea.  This card is super sparkly and elegant in person.  I love how the Silver Foil shows through. 

The inside was embossed with Silver as well.

A shabby chic wedding card...

Before I share today's project, I wanted to share a couple photos with you.  At our Stamporee last month, we made and collected cards for the Ronald McDonald House in Little Rock.  We also had some donations of laundry detergent along with some cash donations.  We had also had a silent auction item donated by Pam Crane and purchased by Sue Warrington, so those proceeds also went there.  I was in Little Rock on Saturday for a Girl Scout board meeting and ran over with a friend afterwards.  They gave us a tour of the facilities and they have a new building under construction next door.  It will be BEAUTIFUL!!

Here we are with our donations.  Patricia Robertson is on the board with me so I dragged her along to help carry.  

Here's the card rack they have for guests in the library. We're not the only ones making cards.  

Today's wedding card is in the shabby chic style.  This was definitely a favorite during the class.  The colors are Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.  I used the Woodgrain embossing folder for some texture, the cut the Vanilla piece with the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies, then added some flowers made using the new Blossom Bunch Punch.  A couple leaves from the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies finish the look.

Three types of ribbon help give it the shabby chic look: 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon, Gold Metallic Baker's Twine and Venetian Crochet Trim.  Lots of little Pearls add a nice touch as well.  The flowers are held together with Mini Brads, but for the class, we used Gold Mini Brads to go with the Gold Baker's Twine.
