We are having our annual Christmas in August (or July) event today and we have almost 50 of you wonderful ladies stamping holiday projects! I'll be sharing photos next week, but today I wanted to share a couple projects made by some of our Crew Demonstrators. Their challenge was to make a card with a fun edge or different shape. They both came up with the same idea using the same stamp set, but with completely different looks. I also love that these are both single layer cards!
The first card is from one of our newest Crew Demonstrators, Jamie King. Jamie used the Swallowtail and Papillon Potpourri stamp sets to create this bright and clean card.
I love the single Watermelon Wonder color and it's hard to tell in the photo, but the small butterflies are stamped with another stamped and punched layer on top for some added dimension. The sequins add just the right amount of bling.
Supplies used:
Swallowtail, Papillon Potpourri, and Sassy Salutations stamp sets
Whisper White card stock
Watermelon Wonder ink
Bitty Butterfly Punch and Brights Sequins
The second card is from Crew Demonstrator Laura Diamond (featured in yesterday's post). Laura had the same idea with the Swallowtail stamp, but went for a vintage look.
Laura started out with a Crumb Cake card stock base and then used the Awesomely Artistic stamp set to create a great background. The added raised words with Linen Thread add just the right amount of embellishment. Did you notice the fun punched corners? That's made using the new Curvy Corner Trio Punch from the Holiday Mini Catalog.
Butterflies are amazingly intricate and delicate--you can't help but be mesmerized by their beauty. The large size (5-1/2" x 4-3/8") is ideal for backgrounds, or you can stamp it, then cut out an accent from the stamped image.
Our clear-mount stamps are made of the same high-quality red rubber as our wood-mount stamps, but they're repositionable. They're precut and ready to go. Temporarily mount these stamps on clear blocks for stamping, then remove them for space-saving storage. You'll only need one set of blocks for all your clear-mount stamps (blocks sold separately). Our premium red rubber will last for years and give a superior stamped impression each time. The stamps come packaged in cases with images on the spine for easy storage and quick reference.
Crafting without punches? Inconceivable! Punches are a quick and easy way to add interest and depth to your projects. And there's no better way to cut out stamped images—many of our stamp sets have coordinating punches. Our punches are high quality, affordable, and easy to use.
* Sleek body style * Large surface area offers precise cutting and leverage * Locks to store * Slim and stackable
Look at these beautiful butterflies! These images are gorgeous on their own and even more fun when you layer them.

It's an overcast and chilly day today in NE Arkansas. I have another workshop tonight, so I've finished cutting, setting up and cleaning. I'm waiting on someone to come pick up our old mattress set after John gets home and helps me haul it downstairs. Our new one came in last week and although I love it, it's a little firm. Does anyone have a good suggestion for a topper? I've been researching this morning and am thinking about a wool one. If you have a suggestion - email me!
We have lots of great new kits in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I've already shared a video on the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Kit, so I thought today I would share a video on the Build a Bouquet Project Kit. I love these gorgeous flowers. Not only do they look great in a bouquet, but they're perfect for cards, box and bag toppers, tags, pins/boutonnieres and more! Remember that you can't watch the video in the email. You need to click on the blog title to watch. Enjoy!
Today's sample is from CrEW Stamper Janet Hathcoat. Janet made her own ink pad with a baby wipe dotted with several ink refill colors. We made wreath cards using this technique in the fall, but it also looks fabulous on this butterfly.
Aren't the colors fabulous?!
Here's a little closer look.

Here's a little sneak peek at one of our workshop projects this month:
This card was using the new framelits dies from the Spring Mini - love it!
Butterflies were apparently a big ticket item with the Regional swaps. Probably 1/3 of the swaps I received had butterflies of some sort. Here are a couple of my favorites that used the Swallowtail stamp set. I hope they keep this in the new catalog.
This card was made by May Cloncs and she had cased a card from Mary Brown (she's fabulous!). I love the monochromatic color scheme.
This card was designed by Jeni Northcutt. I like the En Francais background stamp with the butterfly.
This gorgeous, plus-size butterfly will provide a breathtaking focal point for scrapbook pages and oversized cards. Or sprinkle it with adhesive and Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter, then turn it into a one-of-a-kind tag for an extra-special gift.

Today's post features a tempting color challenge. Here is the photo:
And, here's the card:
I matched up the strips of colors, then added the new Swallowtail stamp.
A little Dazzling Diamonds and a couple Rhinestones on the antennae add a little bling.
