Today's project is from Crew Stamper Janet Hathcoat.  Janet made this lovely set of butterfly themed cards for her friend Millie.  Janet used the Papillon Potpourri stamp set from the annual catalog to make these layered butterflies.  

I really love how the punches coordinate with the stamp sets, but you can also punch out layers with card stock or DSP.

She used some retired DSP for the card base and then several colors for the circles.

Swallowtail - the same but different!

We are having our annual Christmas in August (or July) event today and we have almost 50 of you wonderful ladies stamping holiday projects!  I'll be sharing photos next week, but today I wanted to share a couple projects made by some of our Crew Demonstrators.  Their challenge was to make a card with a fun edge or different shape. They both came up with the same idea using the same stamp set, but with completely different looks.  I also love that these are both single layer cards!

The first card is from one of our newest Crew Demonstrators, Jamie King.  Jamie used the Swallowtail and Papillon Potpourri stamp sets to create this bright and clean card.

I love the single Watermelon Wonder color and it's hard to tell in the photo, but the small butterflies are stamped with another stamped and punched layer on top for some added dimension.  The sequins add just the right amount of bling.

The second card is from Crew Demonstrator Laura Diamond (featured in yesterday's post).  Laura had the same idea with the Swallowtail stamp, but went for a vintage look.

Laura started out with a Crumb Cake card stock base and then used the Awesomely Artistic stamp set to create a great background.  The added raised words with Linen Thread add just the right amount of embellishment.  Did you notice the fun punched corners?  That's made using the new Curvy Corner Trio Punch from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Gift from the Garden & a Guest Stamper!...

Today's project is from guest Crew Stamper Laura Diamond.  Laura made this gorgeous card for our Demonstrator meeting swap.  The challenge was to make a card using new items from the catalog.  I love all the fun techniques and products she used on this great card.

Papillon Potpourri!

Butterflies seem to be all the rage, so here's a card we made at the Monday class featuring the Papillon Potpourri stamp set.

I'm lovin' all the shades of yellow we're carrying now.  I'm also loving the Polka Dot Parade DSP!

The central image is stamped with the butterfly, then sponged with Daffodil Delight ink, then another butterfly is added on top with a glue dot, colored with a Blender Pen and Daffodil ink, then glittered on the edges with Dazzling Diamonds.  Rhinestones were added to the heads of both butterflies.

This card features the Butterfly Bundle (only available for a few more days).  Don't you love how all the ink coordinates with the card stock, coordinates with the ribbon, coordinates with the Designer Paper?  If you go to the craft store, the inks, ribbon and papers are all made by different companies, so you're going to have a tough time matching up 60 shades of blue.  Just another reason why Stampin'Up! is so GREAT!!!  One stop shopping and everything goes together!!!!
