Today's project using the Delightful Decorations set is this adorable treat box.
|
I've added 4 Hershey Miniatures in a cello bag tied with ribbon, but you could use Ghirardelli squares, a wrapped gift card, miniature candy bars or other small treats. |
To make this box, I cut 2 Scallop Envelopes out of Early Espresso CS, then trimmed off the bottom flaps to about 1/2", then overlapped the side and bottom flaps to make the box. I punched a Word Window for a handle, then wrapped a 9" x 2-1/8" piece of Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP around the box, added an ornament, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon and a Rhinestone for some bling. These are super quick and easy to make. The inside dimensions of the box are about 3" wide, 1/2" deep and 2-1/4" high (not including the handle area).

You can use the Scallop Envelope die to create custom envelopes from any piece of card stock or Designer Series paper. Scallop Envelope die cuts also make adorable memorabilia pockets on scrapbook pages.
Simply cut the image using the die, and then adhere the edges (sides first, and then bottom) with Sticky Strip or Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive. Add a stamped image or embellishment, and you have the perfect cover for your handmade 2" x 3" cards.
■ To use the Scallop Envelope die, you’ll need a Sizzix Big Shot machine and Standard Cutting Pads. ■ 5-1/2" x 6"
Here are a couple more cards from the Christmas in July card swap:

This card was made by Michele Murphy using the gorgeous new Christmas Blessings stamp set from page 19 in the catalog. |

I love the use of Gold Embossing Powder (109129) and Dazzling Diamonds glitter accents (102023). Beautiful! |

This card was made by Mandy Beliew. I think the tree was from a retired set, but you could substitute the tree froim the new Evergreen set in the Holdiay Mini. The stocking is from the Snow Much Fun set from page 15 in the Catalog. I loved how she used the Two Tags Die to put her focal point on and the pop of color with the Wisteria Wonder "Season's Greetings" banner. Adorable!!! |
