Mini Photo Album & New Website Features!

Before I share my project for today, I wanted to let you know that my website, www.sandyrisi.stampinup.net, has some new features, so make sure to check it out.  You can now view my website on tablets and mobile devices.  Some of the pages have new looks and layouts as well, so take a little time when you have a chance and look through it.

A while ago, I shared a cute Instagram Card made by Laura Diamond and had mentioned I was going to use the design to make prom albums for Samantha and her friends.  I made 11 of these adorable little albums and tailored each one to the friend with their own special photos.
The finished size on my photo album on the left is 5-1/2"x 5-1/2".  Laura's card is on the right.  For my cardstock, I used 12x12 Crumb Cake, then some Soft Suede, Basic Black, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz & Tempting Turquoise.  A silver glimmer heart and White Chalk Marker make it pop. Gorgeous Grunge adds a bit of texture to the front.
I left room for each of them to do some journaling.

I used the @SoSocial stamp set for some of the pages (retired).

We had 11 kids in the group.  Photos were taken at the Memphis Botanic Gardens - beautiful!

Ssmantha's date likes to be held - lol.  Since this is Samantha's album, there are a lot of photos of her.  Each person had more photos of themselves, along with the group photos.

It's always fun to do a couple collage pages.  We had dinner at PF Chang's in Memphis.
The ride over was a lot of fun. Sparkling cider and hors' devours.

One side had all the fun photos.
The other side had all the more formal photos.

I used 5-1/2" x 12" pieces of card stock to make the album.  They were scored at 5-1/2" and 11", then folded and overlapped with the 1" tab.  I used the PL Corner Punch for all the corners.  Super simple to make and a great keepsake.

We had our Project Life Scrapbooking Class last Saturday and I wanted to share some photos of what everyone was working on.  The first set is from Carrie R. who does a lot of scrapbooking of her grandson.

The next set if from Brenda F. who spent her time die cutting letters.  As  you can tell, the new Perfect Print Alphabet Bigz Dies were the hit of the day!!

Velita W. worked on her east coast road trip:

Michele M. worked on some vintage photos from her past:

Laura D. had planned to work on her 1200+ photos from her New Zealand trip, however, she overworked the Walgreens photo center and they didn't finish printing them until the event was over.  So, she organized her maps, brochures and tickets from the trip and worked on cards to put in the pages (which she has started working on).

I spent my time on cutting letters and working on the girls "through the years" albums:

This last photo is of a card I made just using Project Life cards and embellishments:

For years I've been asking Stampin'Up! to come up with a scrapbook kit that has all the fall holidays and one that has all the spring holidays.  I'm super excited to say that they have a Project Life kit in the new Holiday Mini Catalog that has all the fall holidays - woohoo!!!  Can't wait! New Colors & Scrapbook Challenge Day 16!

I want to remind everyone that the SUDSOL Blog Tour is tomorrow (Tuesday, July 1st) and we'll be showcasing new products and stamp sets from the 2014-2015 Catalog, so make sure to check in and see all these great ideas.

Our project today is brought to you by Stampin'Up! Demonstrator Janet Hathcoat.  She used 3 of our new In Colors to make this adorable card.

The colors used are Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss & Lost Lagoon.  She used the Chevron Embossing Folder for some texture.

The larger flowers were made with the Petite Petals Punch and the centers were punched with the retired Itty Bitty Punch Pack, but could be substituted with the new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack or the Boho Blossoms smallest flower.

Supplies used:

Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set
Whisper White, Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon card stock
Basic Black ink
Chevron Embossing Folder, Petite Petals Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack
Candy Dots (Brights and Regals)

Today I finally finished the Girl Scout scrapbook and have started cleaning up.  I've decided on one more project which may have to wait until after vacation, so I'll show you when it's finished.  That was an exhausting project!  Katie graduates from ASU in May, so my plan is to get her photos ordered and printed in September, then work on her albums in February.  I need that long to recuperate!!  I think in the future, a good goal is one year per day if nothing else is happening.  This has been a great learning process and now I'm ready for the Project Life class in July.  The Girl Scout album used almost all Project Life supplies.

Here's the mess I started out with.

I haven't done a lot of embellishing and absolutely no journaling, so I may add a bit later.  My main goal was just to get them in the albums!!  CHECK!
